VS Fashion show review 2000

Victoria’s Secret Show 2000

The new age brought new trends and alterations to the much-loved nineties we never forget. Still intensely feminine, yet more imaginative and elaborate, the new lingerie collection landed.

Mesmerising sequins, weightless feathers and vibrant vinyl - all of these have been splashed onto the catwalk of Victoria’s Secret 2000 Show.

The designers crowned the ending of nineties with echoes of disco sequins and zips, tennis skirt modesty, oversized buckles and halternecks, while giving space to the newness of brightly colored foil, leather and metal rock spikes.

Somewhat magical and surreal, almost underwater movement of pearly fabric and sparkly turquoise captivated the audience, followed by angelic and tender outfits, celebrating the classic VS theme. Lush gold and feathers came in as modern and luxury start of 2000’s trends, as a cherry on top of a show.

Remembering the nineties show like it was yesterday, many would agree that this new century brought a new chapter into the theme of femininity. The outfits on this catwalk look much more candid and daring. The high waist shorts dropped to the hips and the crop tops jumped up to become a new kind of a modern bra. Cowl necks replaced reserved halter necks, letting the textiles flow and the sequins sparkle.

Designers stuck to the signature voluminous locks and glowy skin, while incorporating new techniques and more natural look in make up.

As any new beginning, much awaited by many, this show was a success for the house, as well as being an amusing step in careers of many models, such as Gisele Bundchen, who joined the angels team just last year. Among other notable unchanging angels who walked the catwalk this year were: Adriana Lima, Carmen Cass, Heidi Clum and Tyra Banks. The show came to a beautiful closure with Laetitia Casta enjoying the spotlight in a stunning golden gown.
